Our Tradition

Thank you to all our Christmas tree customers for making the 2011 holiday season a busy one for Broken Arrow Nursery!  The weather was perfect for tree and wreath shopping – we sold so many trees from our Evergreen Avenue location that we needed to close that field a week before Christmas.  Plenty of trees and wreaths were still available on Broken Arrow Road, where sales continued right up until 9:30 p.m. Christmas eve. We’ll spend the first eleven months of 2012 getting ready for December: planting new seedlings, pruning, fertilizing, and mowing.  When we open our doors for sales the day after Thanksgiving, we’ll be ready with more beautiful trees and wreaths for your enjoyment!

The Jaynes family planted their first Christmas trees in 1947 as part of a 4-H project. We now have over 25 acres of trees at two Hamden locations: 13 Broken Arrow Road and 680 Evergreen Avenue. Plan on visiting the Broken Arrow Road location for the best selection of trees in 2012; besides a wide selection of firs, we have spruce up to 15’ tall at this site. 680 Evergreen Avenue has large white pines, up to 12’, in addition to medium size fir and spruce. We provide the saw – but don’t be afraid to ask for help!

Pre-Cut Trees

If you don’t want to choose and cut a tree from the field, both locations offer a large selection of premium pre-cut fraser and balsam firs (individually priced based on tree height).

Wreaths (view wreaths)

We are well known for our hand-made wreaths crafted from unusual and traditional greens, such as holly and winterberry. Wreaths come in an assortment of shapes and sizes ranging from 12 to 48 inches. Pre-made wreaths can be picked up throughout the season or custom orders can be filled at any time. A variety of kissing balls, centerpieces and other handcrafted holiday decorations are also available. To explore your inner creativity, attend one of our wreath-making workshops to produce your own gorgeous masterpiece.

Christmas tree stands, greens, roping, and a few potted trees are available at both locations.
