In the world of Japanese maples there are those that weep and then there are those that WEEP! The exciting new green leaf selection ‘Ryusen’ falls into the latter category with branching that is as pendulous as any plant we know. If left untrained plants will form irregular, creeping groundcovers that are perfect for meandering through boulders or sprawling down a bank. Staked plants form a distinctly vertical column with all secondary branching falling tightly against the central leader. Certainly a fun plant to play with and one we’re excited to offer this year.
