Bearberry is a wonderful, low growing evergreen groundcover native throughout much of North America. The foliage is lustrous dark green in summer and turns rich, reddish-bronze in fall and winter. In late summer and fall, plants are cloaked with an exceptional display of bright red, pea-sized fruit. Plants perform best in acidic sandy soils in full sun or partial shade. They also exhibit tremendous salt tolerance. Grows 6-8" tall with a 12-48" spread.
