A durable pine with an evolving habit that ranges from dense and pyramidal in youth to more broad, open and flat-topped with age. The strong growing plants have attractive bark that breaks up shadowybrown furrows with smooth gray ridges. Stems support lengthy, 6" needles that are stiff and dark green in color. Plants work well in urban environments where their tolerance to pollution and difficult soils can be an asset. Excellent in mass plantings, for shelter from winds or as a specimen. 50'
