The 12" tall, golden-yellow foliage of 'Sweet Kate' glistens in the morning sun and brightens the afternoon shade garden. Clusters of teardrop shaped buds produce 1 to 1.5" triangular purple-blue flowers. Each individual flower only lasts a single day but the bloom succession continues from May through July. Cutting the foliage back in summer not only produces bright new foliage but will encourage a fresh flush of blossoms. Plants prefer evenly moist soil with good drainage for best performance.
