Hamden Tree Commission Recognizes Our Pawpaw Tree

The Hamden Tree Commission, which promotes the conservation and stewardship of a healthy, safe, and vibrant tree canopy within the town of Hamden, has recognized the pawpaw tree on our nursery grounds and named it the Hamden Notable Tree for the month of October. In a state known for a rich variety of trees, and in a town that actively cultivates a prosperous environment for them, this is a nice distinction.

The species is small compared to other trees, growing to upwards of 35 feet tall. It is known for its fruits, which are the largest edible fruits in the US and have a distinct and enjoyable flavor.

Broken Arrow Nursery sells the pawpaw. Our page for the tree can be found here.
