A very cool hybrid maple that is the result of a cross between Acer griseum and A. saccharum. The result is a fantastic and rare specimen tree sure to turn heads. The vigorous plants are upright when young but become more spreading and stately with age. The rich green leaves are three lobed with a shape somewhere between the two parents. In autumn they take on impressive orange and red tones. The bark is also a fine blend of the parentage developing a maroon-amber color and flecking quality with age. Ultimate size is still unknown though we've been surprised at the vigor and of our young plants that have averaged 1-2' of growth annually. We'd expect 30-40' to be possible in maturity.
