An intriguing deciduous hybrid magnolia of superior ornamental quality that combines both Magnolia virginiana and M. tripetela in its parentage. Plants showcase 6” creamy-white flowers from mid June to July backed by large, 6-8” glossy fresh green leaves. The flowers are well formed and emit a heavenly, lemon-like fragrance. Plants are strong growers reaching 15’ high and wide over 15 years and fully cold hardy in Zone 6. The original plant was discovered as a chance seedling near Boston MA and was introduced and promoted by the Arnold Arboretum.
