This is a large perennial, growing 6-7’, which brightens the back of one of our garden beds. The deeply toothed, lobed foliage is matte-green. In August, large, 3-4” golden-yellow flowers with an olive-green, acorn-like center continue to open until October. (Has also been called Rudbeckia nitida ‘Herbstsonne’ but some authorities have stated that it could be a hybrid between the two species). Site in full sun in average, moderately moist soils.
