One of the common names for this shrub is "hoary willow" and the reason is obvious since the silvery-white hairs coating the stems and undersides of the dark green leaves make the plants seem touched by frost year-round. Early spring brings masses of fuzzy bottlebrush catkins lining the stems, and the leaves are often retained long into the winter, adding some interest to otherwise barren landscapes. Native to bogs and wetlands of the northern United States and southern Canada, Salix candida prefers consistently moist soil and full sun.

- For fall, our plants will be shipped from March 11th (weather dependent) until the week of April 26th.
- Changing Your Order - If you have an order that has been placed, the only way to modify it is by emailing us.
- Shipping Charges - Due to increasing costs associated with shipping plants and the time required to package orders we have established a 30% flat shipping fee for all plant orders in the Northeast, 40% flat shipping fee for remaining states east of the Mississippi River and a 45% flat shipping fee for all states west of the Mississippi River. There is a $30, $40, or $45 minimum shipping fee, depending on your region, for plant orders under $100. A small number of oversized plants have an additional $10 surcharge.
- Shipping Restrictions - Mail-order is restricted to the plants that are included in the mail-order section of our website. Unfortunately we are unable to ship plants to AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, HI, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT, or WA.
- Shipment Period - We ship plants in the fall from September - November and in the spring from March - May. All shipments are weather and plant growth dependent.
- Guarantee - We guarantee that all plants sold by Broken Arrow Nursery are healthy and true to name when they leave the nursery.
- Please contact us within 5 days of the receipt of your order if such is not the case. If we are at fault we will replace the plant in question or issue a nursery credit for the purchase price of the plant. We are unable to guarantee plants that are improperly cared for after delivery.
